WELCOME to St. Vladimir's Toastmasters!
St. Vladimir Toastmasters is a local chapter of Toastmasters International. We are a diverse community group who get together each week to improve our confidence, speaking AND leadership skills.
Many people join to overcome their fear of public speaking, to build their confidence or because they need to improve their presentation skills for work.
Most people stay because it's FUN!
Our Toastmasters club is like a laboratory - a place to safely experiment. Try, get positive feedback and suggestions and try again.
The result: people who are confident, better speakers.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests.
Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you areto become better communicators.
Every week we have an exciting 60 minute meeting. There are many roles in the meeting and we take turns leading the meeting, keeping track of time, leading a game of improvised "Table Topics" and more!
Everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student. There are club officers elected every year but there is no "rank" inside the meeting. Everyone contributes as they choose and everyone learns and supports everyone else. Yes, it SOUNDS to good to be true, but it is true :-)
